Peel Police - Road Closures for Constable Ochakovsky

Mississauga – Peel Regional Police are announcing road closures which will affect vehicular traffic in the area of Matheson Blvd and Kennedy Road.
On Monday, March 1, 2010, Peel Regional Police Constable Artem “James” Ochakovsky was involved in a serious motor vehicle collision, while on-duty. Constable Ochakovsky died from his injuries the following evening.
On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, a full police funeral will be taking place at the Hershey Centre, located at 5500 Rose Cherry Place, Mississauga. The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. As a result, the following road closures will take place:
· 11:00 a.m. – Kennedy Road closes between Matheson Blvd and Watline Road.
· 11:30 a.m. – Matheson Blvd closes between McAdam Road and Timberlea Blvd.
· 11:30 a.m. – The Kennedy Road closure will extend south from Matheson Blvd to Grand
Highland Way.
· 11:30 a.m. – Rose Cherry Place closes at Coopers Avenue.
The funeral procession will depart from Kennedy Road and Matheson Blvd, and will travel east to Rose Cherry Place. Once the entire procession has turned onto Rose Cherry Place, the traffic points will be re-opened to vehicular traffic.
Rose Cherry Place will remain closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the service.
Motorists are urged to plan accordingly.
