Officers Arrest Fourth Suspect in Stokes Road Shooting Investigation
Brampton - Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a fourth suspect in relation to a shooting incident that occurred on Stokes Road in Brampton.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., on Friday, October 16, 2015, an officer attended the area of Stokes Road, Brampton, in response to an unknown 9-1-1 call. Upon the officer’s arrival, contact was made with one of the suspects, who immediately opened fire on police with a handgun. Numerous rounds were fired towards the officer, one of which struck him. The officer was transported to a local hospital.
A civilian victim was located at the scene, also suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local trauma centre. A second civilian victim was also located nearby, who had suffered no injuries.
Both the police and civilian gun-shot victims suffered non-life threatening injuries and have since been released from hospital.
Devonte ROWE, a 20 year-old Brampton resident, was arrested on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. He has been charged with Robbery (two counts), Kidnapping (two counts) and Aggravated Assault (two counts).
Devonte ROWE will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Brampton, on Thursday, March 10, 2016, for a Bail Hearing.
