Task 5 : Internet Safety Post-Assessment

  1. In a culminating activity for this unit, students, given a scenario that they have never seen before, will identify the Internet safety rules that were observed and those that were broken.

A variety of methods for response to the scenario may be used, including the following:

  • Students will write a journal reflection based on their reaction to the scenario.
  • Students will "rewrite" the scenario script, correcting the behaviours of the characters where Internet safety rules had been broken.
  • Students will write an e-mail to one of the characters discussing their actions in the scenario.

Results may be included as part of assessment for the Health and Safety curriculum.

  1. Distribute a new copy of the assessment tool, Internet Safety Quiz, and allow students the opportunity to complete the assessment once again. Record the results on the tracking sheet provided, and compare results to pre-assessment at beginning of unit. Submit assessment results to police officer who visited the school.
