Victim Information and Services

The Peel Regional Police is committed to treating all people with dignity. We have created this section of our website to provide victims of crime a way to locate community resources that may be of assistance to them. The following are brief descriptions and links to commonly used community resources.

VICTIM SERVICES OF PEEL

Victim Services is mandated to provide immediate crisis intervention and other related services to persons victimized by crime or tragic circumstance. The majority of their referrals come from the Peel Regional Police although many social services, schools, and community residents contact them directly. Professional counsellors and trained volunteers respond immediately and can attend at any scene of trauma or victimization usually within thirty minutes. Their service delivery is based upon the principles of empowerment and prevention through education and advocacy.
