Peel Police - Motor Vehicle Collision - Cyclist Struck

Mississauga – Investigators from Peel Regional Police’s Major Collision Bureau are investigating a motor vehicle collision that sent a 7 year-old boy to a Toronto trauma centre.
On Saturday, May 31, 2009, at approximately 2:56 p.m., a 7 year-old boy was riding his bicycle northbound on the east sidewalk of Haig Boulevard, north of Lakeshore Road East. At this time a black, 2-door, Ford pick-up truck reversed from a driveway and collided with the cyclist.
The cyclist was originally transported to a Mississauga hospital, but has since been transferred to a Toronto trauma centre. He is listed in stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing by members of the Major Collision Bureau. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is requested to contact officers at (905) 453-2121, ext 3710.
