Crimes of the Week - Mississauga

Bank Robbery Suspect Sought
  

Peel Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying  a male suspect believed to be responsible for two bank robberies in Peel Region.
 
On Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a suspect entered the Bank of Nova Scotia located at 660 Eglinton Avenue West, vaulted over the counter and made a demand for cash. A gun was indicated, but not seen.  After receiving some cash, the suspect fled the bank.
 
The suspect wore a white sleeved shirt, with long black sleeves, blue jeans, a light-coloured baseball hat, white running shoes and a latex glove on his left hand. He was also seen carrying a black bag.
 
On Monday, August 30, 2010, at approximately 9:35 a.m., a suspect entered the Bank of Nova Scotia located at 1825 Dundas Street East and displayed a handgun tucked in the front of his pants.   The suspect then jumped over the counter, made verbal demands for money and then made off with a quantity of cash.
 
In this incident the suspect was wearing a beige shirt, blue jeans, a blue baseball cap and reading glasses. His right arm appeared to be bandaged up.
 
The suspect in both incidents is described as: Male, white, 5’8”- 5’10” tall, with a thin build and an estimated age in his 40’s.
 
Investigators believe that the suspect in both robberies is the same individual. Investigators also believe that this suspect is responsible for several bank robberies in York Region.
