Release #: 2008 - 24a

MAN SHOT IN MALTON BAR

A dispute over pool table etiquette resulted in a man being shot. The suspect was caught on a surveillance camera and police are hoping you can help identify him.

During the early morning hours of Monday, October 6, 2008, the 35 year–old victim was playing pool at the Time Out Bar and Grill, located on Brandongate Drive in Malton. For reasons yet to be determined, the suspect approached the victim, while racking the action of a pistol. The suspect shot the victim multiple times in both of his upper legs. Then as many witnesses looked on, he calmly left the bar on foot.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries.

The suspect has been described as male, black, 5’ 8” to 6’ tall, slim build, with a long narrow face and gold teeth. He was wearing a white and black checker-designed jacket and a uniquely styled New York Yankees hat.

Photographs of the suspect are below. You can also view a portion of the surveillance video by going to [YouTube].
